This photo shows how the claw has completely broken off. Luckily the customer found the diamond which had fallen out.
The first step is to clean the ring and prepare the surface where the old claw was and remove any old solder.

Gold solders are an alloy of gold which has a slightly lower melting temperature than the gold alloy in the ring itself. This enables us to heat the join between the ring and the claw and the small piece of lower melting alloy melts and joins the claw to the ring.

The ring is polished bring back its lustre like it was brand new. Customers are most often amazed at how new their ring looks. But you don't have to have a major repair to restore a ring's brilliance. We can clean and polish your jewellery at any time.

It is a good idea to have your jewellery checked periodically to ensure that claws are not worn or damaged which could lead to loss of valuable stones.

We suggest that you bring your jewellery in just before your birthday each year to have it clean and checked by our jeweller.
